The Level One License authorizes supervised driving with a licensed parent or guardian. The license also allows supervision from any licensed driver (21 years of age or older) designated by the student's parents as a responsible party.

To receive the license you must be 14 years and 9 months old. The student and parent must present the following to the Secretary of State:

• Segment One Certificate
• Original Birth Certificate
• Social Security Card
• 2 proofs of Michigan residency
